Port Blair, Jul 26: Field Operations Division of National Statistical Office under the Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation, Govt of India will organize a Regional Training Camp on Household Consumption Expenditure Survey 2022-23 (HCES) from 27th July 2022 to 29th July 2022 in the Office premises. Mr. Soumya Roy, Joint Director, National Statistical Office, Survey Design and Research Division, Kolkata will inaugurate the Camp. Mr. A.Abdul Rahman, Senior Statistical Officer will conduct the Camp.
During the Camp, necessary training will be imparted to the field offices to carry out the survey. The period of the survey is from August 2022 to July 2023. Field officials will be visiting 20 Urban Blocks and 40 Villages during this period and collect information with respect to Household Characteristics and information on Consumption of Food items, Consumables and Services and Durable Goods.
The information thus collected will be primarily used for the preparation of a weighting diagram through the determination of budget shares of different commodity groups in total consumption for the compilation of Consumer Price Indices for Rural and Urban India.
