Port Blair, July 17: Fulfilling the demands raised by the General Public of Rangat region, the Member of Parliament of Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Shri. Kuldeep Rai Sharma has recommended ‘An Mortuary Van for the Panchayat SamitiRangat’ from MPLADS fund for the use of People of the region.
The Mortuary Van will be provided to Panchayat SamitiRangat at the cost of Rs. 15 Lakhs.
Once inducted, the Mortuary Van will not only help the general public during last rites of their loved one at Rangat region but also the Mortuary Van can be pressed into use to transport dead-bodies from Port Blair to Rangat.
Presently people of Middle and North Andaman are facing huge difficulties in transporting dead-bodies from Port Blair to Middle and North Andaman because of the high rate of private Mortuary Vans of Port Blair.
