Diglipur, July 17: A massive dead tree dangerously standing along the hilly roadside (govt. land) which is opposite to some residential houses situated at Ward No –7, near Veterinary Office, Sitanagar village under Diglipur Tehsil has become a matter of grave concern.
Talking to Andaman Sheekha, the residents of this area said that an impending danger is looming over their head as a dead tree is dangerously standing along the hilly roadside opposite to their residential houses.
And to one’s utter dismay, two sets of overhead HT lines pass under this dangerously standing tree and the residential houses are in close proximity to this dead tree, they disclosed. And it may fall on these HT lines and on their residential houses at the same point of time thereby taking its toll, they alarmed.
“There are three kids in my residential house and we are in panic now,” said one of the residents. “The tree has significantly tilted towards the road and my house and hence my worries are growing” said another resident. Besides, the tree may fall on the moving vehicles and cause havoc, they also said.
The residents of this area informed the Pradhan, Gram Panchayat Sitanagar and the Pradhan visited the site but nothing has been done till date, they alleged. Now they are going to apprise the local administration of the danger situation posed by the dead tree and urge the concerned authority to redress the problem on priority to avert the impending danger, they said.
