
Port Blair, Jul 14: An unfortunate fire accident was reported from Junglighat village; wherein the Pucca house along with the house hold articles; belonging to Mrs. Sangita Tripathi, W/o Bhanu Prakash Tripathi, R/o Junglighat, situated Near Aakash Institute, under Port Blair Tehsil was severely damaged.
In the fire accident, a beauty parlour which was being run by Mithu Gosh was also partially damaged. An amount of Rs 1,05,900/- (One Lakh Five Thousand Nine Hundred only) has been sanctioned and disbursed to the concerned families.
Taking note of the above unfortunate incident the Chief Secretary, Andaman & Nicobar Administration has directed for providing adequate relief to the affected family.
In pursuance of the direction of Chief Secretary, A&N Administration; taking the proactive steps in the matter, Mr. SuneelAnchipaka, IAS, District Magistrate/Deputy Commissioner, South Andaman has directed the team of Officials to expedite the disbursement of ex-gratia relief to the affected family.
Accordingly, the District Administration Relief Team including Tehsildar, Port Blair, Revenue Inspector and area Patwari have visited the spot and submitted the assessment report.
Following the directions; Mr. Dilkhush Meena, IAS, Assistant Commissioner (Relief & Disaster Management) completed the documentation and processed the case for sanction of ex-gratia and Sanction accorded by the Deputy Commissioner, South Andaman for an amount of Rs 1,05,900/- (Rs One Lakh Five Thousand and Nine Hundred).The amount is a sanction in terms of SDRF norms.
