Port Blair, Nov 30: It was a moment to cherish for the school community of Govt. Senior Secondary School Mohanpura when its athletes won a record number of 07 gold medals in athletics and kabaddi representing Port Blair zone in the recently held XVI State School Games – 2012. Infact, the athletes have created a record in the annals of the school by winning these medals. Kum. K.Kawasalia of this school became the faster girl of the meet winning gold medals in 100 mtr sprint and winning a gold medal in relay exalting everybody with her feat. Kr. G.Navaneethen won 03 gold medals in sprint and relays. Similarly Kr. Saravanan and Kr. Radha Krishnan too won 01 gold medal each in kabaddi. The stupendous performance of the athletes has kindled high hopes among the peers to take sports seriously and to do well in the coming events. The Principal and staff have congratulated the medal winners and promised to support them in their future endeavour.
