Port Blair, Jun 28: A STS Express Bus (Diglipur Express) travelling from Port Blair to Diglipur met with an accident this afternoon at around 12:30 pm near Pema Tikry, Mayabunder. A total of 41 Passengers were reportedly onboard when this accident took place.
As per the reports when the bus reached Pema Tikry, the driver gave way to a Scooty, meanwhile due to an unknown issue the bus steering got reportedly jammed and the Bus went out of control. The bus went off-road but came to a halt after hitting a roadside mound.
It is learned that two passengers suffered minor injuries and the rest of the passengers escaped unharmed. Immediately another Bus from Mayabunder STS Unit was arranged and all the passengers were safely taken to Diglipur.
