Port Blair, May 17: The last rites of the late Jagannath Choudhary, who retired as Assistant Director, Department of Sports and Youth Affairs, A&N Administration was performed with full respect on 15th May 2022, who passed away on the midnight of 14th May 2022 at the GB Pant Hospital, Port Blair.
He was a very efficient administrator and knowledgeable in the law and was known for his belligerent nature as he always raised his voice against corruption. Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose and many such revolutionaries were his ideals.
His last journey was taken out from his Quarry Hill residence. Dignitaries of the society, working and retired officers of various departments, people from every section of the society and representatives of the Bharatiya Janata Party attended his last journey and paid tributes to him.
Bhojpuri Community of Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Yadav Community, INA Smriti Samiti and Mr. Dilip Pandey, Superintendent Engineer, ALHW paid homage to the departed.
Everyone prayed for the departed soul and consoled the bereaved family in this tough situation.
