Port Blair, Nov 23: The Directorate of Art and Culture, A&N Administration is going to conduct a Training programme-cum workshop for Tourist Guides during 11th-14th December 2012. Historians and experts on personality development and communication skill will impart training to the Tourist Guides. The programme will also include heritage walk to different historical locations to obtain first hand information.
The objective of conducting such training programme is to facilitate Tourist Guides with updated information on the history and
culture of the islands and to encourage unemployed youth of the islands to take up this as a profession as there is demand for Tourist Guides in these islands which is emerging as a sought-after tourism destination.
In this regard, applications are invited from the local youth with minimum qualification of XII standard to take part in the Training programme-cum-workshop. The last date of the application is 7th December 2012. Directorate is not employing any Tourist Guides. This training is only for skill development.
