Port Blair, Apr 25: As per the information an elephant of Diglipur Forest Division has run away into the Laxmipur Forest area on 20th April 2022.
According to reports for tree cutting works in deep forest, elephants and heavy excavators are being used but on 20th April 2022 the said Elephant reportedly got irritated with the sound of heavy excavators and ran away into the deep forest.
As the forest area of the region is massive, the officials and staff of the forest department have been deputed into various areas of the Laxmipur, Gandhi Nagar forest and Ganesh Nagar forest to locate the elephant. The search operation is still afoot by the Diglipur Forest Division and further details are awaited.
