Port Blair, Apr 14: AkhilBhartiyaVidyarthiParishad, A&N Islands celebrated the 131st Birth Anniversary of Dr. B. R Ambedkar (Ambedkar Jayanti) and organized a programme at Golghar. The programme was celebrated by offering flowers to the Great visionary and Father of Constitution Bharat Ratna Baba SahabBhim Rao Ambedkar followed by a series of deliberations.
Dr. Santosh Kumar Jha, President, ABVP, ANI, in his keynote address and highlighted the role and contributions of Dr. B. R Ambedkar in the reformation of Indian society and framing of the Indian Constitution.
Mr. Tejinder Singh President, ABVP, Port Blair unit highlighted the early life and academic endowment of Dr. B. R Ambedkar. Dr. Uday Shankar Banerjee, Dr. C. Satish and Mr. U ParthaSarathi, NEC member also addressed the gathering.
Among the students Mr. SiddhanthRai Sharma, State Joint Secretary, ABVP discussed the philosophical aspects of Ambedkar’s thoughts in relation to Nationalism and Indian Culture.
The program was concluded with a vote of thanks by SushriSeemaKumari, Secretary, ABVP, ANI. The entire programme was coordinated by R. Raja Rao, City Secretary, ABVP. Students from different institutions of A&N Islands joined the programme.
