Port Blair, Mar 28: The National Students Union of India’s State General Secretary Mr. Saurav Nair on Monday wrote a letter to the Prime Minister of India Mr. Narendra Modi and highlighted him about the job issues being faced by youths of A&N Islands.
In the letter, Mr. Nair requested to immediately fill up 9,000 vacant government posts under A&N Administration which is pending since many years.
Further, he requested to provide 100% job reservation for Islanders as done in the case of Union Territory of Ladakh. He also urged to consider 5 years age relaxation for all new govt. recruitment.
He exhorted that, future government jobs in A&N Islands should be provided on permanent basis instead of present contractual basis of 6 months or 1 year period considering the job security of Islanders.
Hence, he requested the Hon’ble PM to consider the genuine requirements of the Islander youths and do the needful on urgent basis inorder to secure the youngsters from going in the lines of crime or suicide.
