Port Blair, Mar 27: The Oath administering ceremony of all 19 Panchayats within the Ferrargunj Tehsil under South Andaman district has come to an end today. In a special meeting convened today on 26/03/2022 at various Panchayat halls, the oath of office was administered by Mr. Dilkhush Meena, IAS, Assistant Commissioner, South Andaman and Ms Yashaswini.B, IAS, Assistant Commissioner (U/T) to the newly elected Pradhans, members and elected Up-Pradhans in respect of Bambooflat-I, Bambooflat-II, Shorepoint and Hopetown Gram Panchayats.
In Bambooflat-1,Bambooflat-II and ShorePoint Gram Panchayats after administering oath of allegiance to Pradhan and Members, Mr. C.Basheer of INC, Mr. Yadav Rao of INC and Mr.K.Shyam Sunder Rao of INC respectively have been declared elected unopposed to the office of the Up-Pradhan wherein no other members filed the nominations.
Whereas in Hopetown Gram Panchayat after administering oath of allegiance to Pradhan and Members, an election was conducted to the office of Up-Pradhan in which Mr. M.HemaRao of BJP was elected to the post of Up-Pradhan by a margin of 01 vote against Mr.Sudeesh of INC.
The Assistant Commissioner, S/A congratulated all the Members, Up-Pradhan and Pradhan and requested the newly elected body to work with their full potential and enthusiasm for the betterment of their respective Panchayats.
