Port Blair, Mar 24: On 23/03/2022 based on telephonic request from resident at Oralkatcha, Baratang at 1700 hrs a King Cobra measuring 190 cm and 1.8 kg was rescued by a team consisting of Mr. Anand Kumar Lakra, RPS Mazdoor and Mr. Binoy Kumar Majumdar, RPS Mazdoor of Nilambur Range.
Again on 24/03/2022 at 0800 hrs based on telephonic information from the resident at Oralkatcha a pair of King Cobra measuring 210 cm (1.90 kg) and 190 cm (1.80 kg) was rescued and safely released back to its natural habitat.
Rescue of wild animals accidentally entering into the human habitat is frequently being encountered and Staff and Workers of Baratang Division promptly reach the location to rescue the wild animal in order to avoid any man animal conflict situation.
