Port Blair, Mar 13: As part of nationwide ‘Puneet Sagar Abhiyan’, cadets of Army and Naval NCC Units are participating in a wide spectrum of activities to clean beaches from plastics and other waste materials and increase awareness about keeping them clean. In eve of this Puneet Sagar Abhiyaan, cadets will interact with local NGOs and industries to convert waste into useful materials.
They will also educate public and create awareness about the use and reuse of plastics. The cadets conducted beach cleanship at Corbyn’s Cove beach under the supervision of PI Staff of both the Units.
Colonel A Vivekananda, Commanding Officer 1(AN) INDEP Inf Coy motivated the cadets to continue such efforts in the future as well. Lt Cdr Ankit Pant, Commanding Officer 1(AN) Naval NCC Unit coordinated the proceedings of the event. 80 NCC Cadets participated in event with zeal and enthusiasm. All COVID protocols were followed during the conduct of the events.
