Port Blair, Mar 10: The Member of Parliament of Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Mr. Kuldeep Rai Sharma has requested the Lt. Governor of Andaman and Nicobar Islands to schedule a ship for Chennai via Campbell Bay and to announce the sailing well in advance, so that people desirous to visit Chennai from Campbell Bay can avail this sailing and plan their journey.
In a letter addressed to the Lt. Governor, the Member of Parliament mentioned that there are many people in the Island who have been planning to visit Chennai via ship but no ship for Chennai has been scheduled via Campbell Bay since a long time.
He added that for people living in Campbell Bay, it is not only troublesome and time consuming but also a very expensive affair to reach Port Blair and wait for a ship for Chennai and hence from the last several decades this was a common practice to schedule ships for Chennai via Campbell Bay as per demand of ship.
He mentioned that after COVID-19 pandemic normalcy has been restored in Andaman and Nicobar Islands and people are now slowly returning back to their normal life. Hence he requested to schedule a ship for Chennai via Campbell bay at the earliest.
