Port Blair, Mar 04: In an unfortunate incident, an elderly man was found dead inside a well in the Bathubasti area on Thursday morning.
The deceased has been identified as Mr. Eshwar Din 80-years-old, a resident of the Bathubasti area.
The incident came into light when the 80-years-old man went for a morning walk in a garden near to his house and didn’t return home after an hour, on which the family members went out in search of him, it is learned.
After searching for a while a slipper of the deceased was found near the well, located in the garden on which nearby people searched inside the well and the dead body was found. PS Pahargaon was immediately informed. A team of PS Pahargaon later reached the spot and recovered the body from the well. Later the body was taken to GB Pant hospital for postmortem after which it will be handed over to the family of the deceased. Police team is conducting further inquiry.
