Port Blair, Mar 02: It is informed to the electors of Port Blair Municipal Council and Gram Panchayats and the officials/officers on Election Duty that no voter should bring a Mobile Phone inside the polling booth/polling stations on the day of poll on 06th March 2022.
It is further notified that elaborate arrangements are done for counting votes on 08rth March 2022 at JNRM (for Port Blair Municipal Council) and Government Girls Senior Secondary School (for Port Blair Gram Panchayats).
Mobile phones will not be allowed inside the counting halls. Mobile phones will not be used from anywhere within the premises of the Counting Hall. All Media Persons will be accommodated in the Media Room. Use of mobile phones and other communication equipment will be allowed from the Media Centre.
It is further clarified that nobody (not even the candidate or RO/ARO etc) except the Observers and Officers connected with Election Duty appointed by the DPME will be allowed to carry a mobile phone inside the counting hall.
A Public Communication Room at both the Counting Hall has been earmarked for safe-keeping of the mobiles etc of the candidates and their agents/representatives to make use of their mobile phones in case of any need.
No camera- still or video of the media except for the official recording of the entire counting process is allowed to be fixed inside any counting hall.
No camera stand will be allowed to be taken inside the counting hall by media and journalists. Hand held cameras will be allowed to the authorized pass holders.
The exact location up to which the still and video camera of the media and press can move will be indicated by the Returning Officer in advance, marked by a line or a boundary for the guidance of all concerned.
