Port Blair, Feb 23: In view of the forthcoming Panchayat and Municipal Election 2022, a meeting with the candidates of different Political parties, who are contesting in the Bambooflat, Manarghat and ShoalbayPanchayat Election was held on 22nd February 2022 at the Conference Hall of PS Bambooflat.
During the meeting, Mr. Ankit Chauhan, IPS, Superintendent of Police, South Andaman sensitized the candidates of different Political parties about the guidelines issued by the Election Commission and advised them to strictly follow the Model Code of Conduct.
Mr. Saurabh Chandra, DANIPS, SDPO (SA/Bambooflat) briefed them about the do’s and don’ts of the Model Code of Conduct. They were urged to maintain Communal Peace, Harmony and to refrain from any illegal activity to induce the voters.
Later on, Mr. Ankit Chauhan along with SDPO (Bambooflat), SHO Bambooflat, Sector Magistrate (Bambooflat Division) and Sector Officer (Bambooflat Division) took stock of the polling stations i.e GSSS (Wimberlygunj), MES School (Azad Nagar) and GSSS (Bambooflat).
After the inspection, the officers were directed to perform their duties with sincerity and dedication and to provide security to all the Polling Stations for free and fair elections.
