Port Blair, Feb 17: A youth of Kinyuka village of Car Nicobar Island reportedly attempted to commit suicide by cutting his own throat with a sharp knife at the wee hours of 16 February 2022.
As per reports, the youth, who is reportedly under depression initially tried to cut arteries of his hand, which were later found superficial injuries. On information family members, villagers and village captain sent him for sleeping after proper counseling but at around 3.00 AM at night he attempted to cut his own throat with a sharp knife and this time the injuries were deep and damaged the wind-pipe of his throat.
On information, the youth was evacuated to Port Blair via helicopter yesterday morning and was admitted in G B Pant Hospital, where his condition is stable.
