Port Blair, Feb 15: A residential house was fully gutted in a fire incident that broke out in Bakultala village, under Rangat Tehsil on Monday evening.
As per details, the residential house which belonged to Mr. Shyamal Halder was made up of Chattai/Bamboo in which due to an electrical short-circuit the fire broke out at around 4.00 PM.
Sources said that the area doesn’t have any mobile network because of which villagers of nearby area initially tried to control the fire by themselves but when the fire engulfed the whole house a villager of Bakultala village walked upto the Balultala Bazaar and from Bakultala village another person went to Bakultala Fire Station and informed the Bakultala Fire Station at around 07.24 PM. By the time they reached the house, it was fully gutted, it is learnt. No one was injured in the incident.
