Port Blair, Feb 14: A 37-years-old bike rider got injured in a hit and run road accident on Sunday at around 06:00 PM.
According to details, the incident took place when the victim was riding his bike on the way back his home and the Jeep driver was coming from the opposite direction.
At Humfreygunj the over-speeding Jeep Driver reportedly hit the bike and ran away from the spot.
Immediately the bike rider who is a PDW worker by profession was rushed to the PHC Manglutan in an Auto rickshaw with help of nearby people as he suffered some minor leg injuries, it is learnt.
Later the matter was intimated to PS Humfreygunj, on which a hit and run case was registered against the Jeep Driver. On investigation, the accused 37-years-old, resident of Shoal Bay was arrested from Chouldary on Sunday night.
