Port Blair, Feb 09: Patients and attendants in BJR Hospital, Car Nicobar Island have been suffering heavily due to the unavailability of basic amenities like food and drinking water in hospital, public alleged.
As per information received the District Hospital in Car Nicobar is not providing food and drinking water facilities to the patients for the past three months. The General Public alleged that patients who are admitted to Hospital for treatment are now forced to buy food and water from outside.
When contacted a senior officer of Directorate of Health Services (DHS) told Andaman Sheekha Daily that the water problem is almost solved and soon the problem of food will be investigated and necessary action will be taken.
Sources told Andaman Sheekha that due to lime buildup inside pipelines the Hospital faced problems in providing safe drinking in the hospital. It is also learnt that due to some problems in the tender process in GeM Government e-Marketplace. There are issues in supplying food to Patients.
