Port Blair, Jan 30: After a long time the Great Nicobar Island is again full of energy and enthusiasm as the Great Nicobar premier League started at mini stadium Campbell Bay. The opening match of the tournament was between ESR 11 Vs 3 U Det Navy and the match was won by the 3 U Det Navy with 130 runs and 3 wickets.
A total nos of 16 teams from different villages, panchayats and Govt. Institutions are participating in this tournament and this tournament started with the theme of ‘No Addiction to Drugs’.
The Assistant Commissioner Campbell Bay Mr. Aditya Kumar Asthana (DANICS) was invited as Chief Guest and while addressing the gathering the Assistant Commissioner motivated the youngsters to participate in sports with sportsman spirit, and the guest of honor was Mrs. M V Jolly Principal GSS School Campbell Bay also encouraged the youths to focus on their career and health by participating in the sports activities, further the Chairman Tribal Council Mr. Barnabas, Ex Pradhan Laxmi Nagar Mr. E S Rajesh, Ex Up-Adhyaksh ZP SA, Mr. Gagandeep Singh Grewal, Mr. Sebastian Tirkey (social worker), Mr. Dharma (social worker) was invited as a guest by the Organizers of the Great Nicobar Premier League.
