Port Blair, Jan 09: A Bharatiya Janata Party delegation led State President Mr. Ajoy Bairagi, Mrs. Protima Banerjee, State Executive Member & Ex Councillor Ward No 6 and Mr. Sailesh Kumar, South Andaman District Vice President met DC South Andaman Mr. Suneel Anchipakka yesterday and requested for the relief of families whose houses were completely damaged during recent fire incident in Prem Nagar, Ward No 6. The affected families were Mrs. P Meena, Mrs. Pandi Laxmi W/o Late Baby Raja, Mrs. A Muniyammal, Mrs. Pushpa who were tenant of Mrs. Pancvaranam. Mrs. Muniyammal lost her son in the fire incident.
The delegation requested DC South Andaman to assess the damages and provide relief/ Compensation from disaster Management Fund. The delegation further requested to provide temporary accommodation in vacant APWD quarters (No. 19 & 20 type ll, behind Ayush Hospital) nearby, so that they can start construction of house.
