Port Blair, Jan 05: In view of the recent increase in the number of COVID-19 cases including detection of Omicron variant cases in these islands and to effectively manage the challenges arising out of the situation, the existing SOPs issued by the Directorate of Information, Publicity and Tourism, A & N Administration in respect of National Memorial Cellular Jail including its Museums, Light and Sound Show and Light Show at NSCB Island has been revised.
Accordingly, visitors to the Museums at Cellular Jail will be allowed from 9 am to 12.30 pm and from 1 pm to 4 pm with a cap of 500 visitors in each time slots. The first Sound and Light Show at Cellular Jail will be from 5.20 pm to 6.15 pm (Hindi all days), second from 6.30 pm to 7.25 pm (Hindi all days) and third shows from 7.35 pm to 8.30 pm (English-Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays and Hindi on Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday). Sound & Light show at NSCB Island will be from 5.20 pm to 6.20 pm (Hindi all days except Wednesday). The shows and visit to museums will be permitted with 50 percent capacity and visitors will have to follow COVID Appropriate Behaviour. Any other orders or advisories issued by the Govt, of India, A&N Administration or any other competent authority will also have to be followed, as applicable, an order issued to this effect by the Director of IP&T said.
