Port Blair, Dec. 27: The Member of Parliament of Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Mr. Kuldeep Rai Sharma has requested the Secretary of Transport Department to provide bus services at various routes in Diglipur Tehsil, North Andaman, exclusively for the students as per school times for their outward and inward journey to ensure their safety.
Highlighting problems of students, the Member of Parliament wrote a letter to the Secretary of Transport Department mentioning that due to non-availability of transportation facilities in the remote rural villages, the students are facing hardship for attending schools and they are compelled to hire private vehicles at a higher rate, which is putting a heavy financial burden on their family due to their poor economic conditions.
The Member of Parliament requested bus service from BD Gram to Govt. Model School, Sitangar via Rabindrapally and Krishnapur and vice versa; Bus service from Milangram to Govt. Secondary School, Laxmipur and GSSS Diglipur and vice versa; Bus service from Nabhagram to Kalighat and vice versa and Bus service from Paschimsagar to Kishorinagar and vice versa.
