
Port Blair, Dec 26: With a motive to have a platform to address various issues related to the welfare of the Sikh community residing in Andaman & Nicobar Islands, a Sikh Community Welfare Association, Port Blair was formed in the year 2006 which was registered under the Societies Registration Act 1860 as a Charitable Society with registration no. 1220.
Since 2006 the Sikh Community Welfare Association, Port Blair has been working to support the needy distressed persons to overcome their miseries. Also, time to time the association has contributed for the developmental and spiritual works of the Gurudwara Sahibs in the Port Blair.
After successful completion of 14 years of service, on 26.12.2021 in the General Body Meeting of the association, the new working committee of the Sikh Community Welfare Association comprising of 12 members was constituted in the presence of Shri. Surinder Mohan Chadha, the Chairman of the meeting. Shri. Dalwinder Singh Toor has unanimously been selected as the President of the Association, Shri. Mandeep Singh Grewal as the Secretary and Smti. Neena Saluja as the Treasure. Besides that a Cultural Committee has also been constituted to uplift the folk and cultural activities of Sikh Community. The new committees are dedicated and focused to take up many more developmental activities for welfare of Sikh Community of A&N Islands in future.
