Diglipur, Dec. 24: Block Level League-cum-Knockout Football Tournament organized by Nehru Yuva Kendra, Diglipur Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports Govt. of India in collaboration with Azad Hind Youth Club, Magar Nallah the kick-off which was from 14th Dec 2021 at Vivekananda Stadium, Diglipur concluded with its final match yesterday.
The Final match was played between Diglipur Strikers v/s NFC (Navin Nagar Football Club) yesterday in which NFC defeated Diglipur Strikers by 06-01.
The top scorer of the tournament was Ajit Kumar who scored 7 goals in 5 matches including a Hat-trick!
Shri Ankit Yadav, (IAS), Assistant Commissioner, Diglipur was the Chief Guest while S.R. Biswas, Coordinator, NYK was the guest of Honour of this final match. The Assistant Commissioner gave away the trophy and cash awards to the teams. The winner team which displayed a superb calibre in the match scoring 6 goals bagged the winning Trophy with a cash award of Rs. 30,000/- sponsored by Partner of TSG Pharmaceuticals (Late G. Muthukumar Swamy), Aberdeen Bazaar, Port Blair while the Runner-up team Diglipur Strikers that also performed well throughout the tournament got runner-up trophy with a cash award of Rs. 20,000/- sponsored by Hira Hotel, Diglipur, a source said.
As per report, the Team Manager LJM Lobo and Team Captain of the winning team NFC were very jubilant on the performance of the players and on the winning of the tournament.
