Port Blair, Dec 15: The Andaman & Nicobar Territorial Congress Committee (ANTCC) observed the 71st death anniversary of the late Home Minister of India Mr. Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel on Wednesday here at Gandhi Bhawan, Port Blair under the leadership of ANTCC President Mr. Rangalal Halder and ANTCC Campaign Committee Chairman Mr. G Bhasker. Senior functionaries of PCC, DCC and other senior leaders of the party including it’s frontal organisations garlanded the portrait of Mr. Sardar Patel.
Scores of Congress workers paid floral tributes and recalled the life and saga of “Iron Man of India”. They also remembered his great qualities and the services he has rendered to the nation.
Later, addressing the Congress workers Mr. Rangalal Halder said that “The current scenario in which some disruptive forces are trying to damage the unity and integrity of India, Sardar Patel and his vision become all the more relevant. We draw motivation from him and his attainment to combat the disruptive forces in the country”.
The entire programme was coordinated by DCC President Mr. V.K Abdul Aziz.
