
Port Blair, Dec 05: The Nehru Yuva Kendra Port Blair organized a one-day training of youth on Clean Village Green Village program in Maharashtra Mandal on Saturday to make people aware and motivate them about the need and importance of cleanliness, greenery and non-use of plastic materials. About 100 youths have participated in the programme. On this occasion, Mr. M Vinod, President AATO, was the chief guest and he made the youth aware about the role of youth on clean village, green village.
During the training, the various topics were covered by the Resource Persons Dr. K Venkatesan, Associate Professor, JNRM and Mr. Santosh Kumar Jha, Associate Professor, JNRM – Challenges related to open defecation in villages, importance of village sanitation, need to make villages plastic free and health and sanitation, waste water management How to stop climate change. use of renewable energy, social and community work for green innovations and medicinal and local plant species.
Dr. Ramesh Kumar, Associate Professor, Mr M. Bala Subramani, JNRM, Mr. Sumit Bain, JNRM, Mr Pawan Roy, Faculty Vedant Education, Mr Gorakh Nath Patil, President, Maharashtra Mandal and Mr. Arvind Patil, Secretary Maharashtra Mandal were also present on the occasion.
Mr Gopal Ch. Biswas, Nehru Yuva Kendra welcomed the gathering and briefed about the aims and objectives of the programme.
