Port Blair, Dec 03: Mr. Paritosh Kumar Halder, President, Andaman Nicobar Democratic Congress and former member of Andaman & Nicobar Pradesh Council demanded to replace all outdated machineries and equipments of BSNL towers with new ones, as the present network strength of BSNL is not satisfactory.
In a letter addressed to the Cabinet Minister of Telecommunication Mrs. Ashwini Vaishraw, the President of ANDC informed that the service of BSNL is very poor in almost all the rural areas/ remote Islands of this UT.
Particularly the school-going children as well as the students of higher education have been facing much hardship due to poor network.
He mentioned that most of the existing BSNL Towers of these Islands have been working far below its actual capacity, and there is a need to replace old equipments with new ones.
