Port Blair, Dec 01: Launching a direct attack on Andaman and Nicobar Territorial Congress Committee, the State President of Bharatiya Janta Party, Mr. Ajoy Bairagi today said the sitting president of ANTCC, Mr. Rangalal Halder along with Mr. T. Hari Krishna, the former Panchayat Secretary have been imposed sentence of three years and a fine of Rs. 10,000/- was also imposed on them. “This was a case of corruption and the case was going on since last nearly 15 years,” Mr. Bairagi informed.
Attacking Congress Party, Mr. Bairagi said that when leaders of a party are involved in such massive corruption in broad day light, how public can trust a party with such leaders.
Addressing a press conference today at BJP office, Port Blair along with Mr. M Vinod, Vice President of BJP State Unit, Mr. Ajoy Bairagi highlighted the pathetic condition of PHCs and CHCs of North and Middle Andaman. He said that he has recently visited the R P Hospital and CHC Diglipur and he is deeply upset seeing the pathetic condition of the PHCs and CHCs.
He said that this is happening because there is no full time Director for Health Services. Mr. Bairagi urged the Administration to appoint a full time Director for Health Service, within 3 – 4 days.
The BJP A&N State Unit president also added that he had visited the G B Pant Hospital yesterday and met with the dialysis patients of Swaraj Dweep. He said that although dialysis machines are available at Swaraj Dweep but the Dialysis unit has not been set up in Swaraj Dweep yet causing huge difficulties for dialysis patients of Swaraj Dweep. He urged the Administration to start Dialysis unit at Swaraj Dweep as early as possible.
Mr. Ajoy Bairagi also highlighted about poor internet connectivity in remote villages of North and Middle Andaman. On behalf of the state BJP unit he requested the Administration to provide better internet connection in remote village of North and Middle Andaman.
He also highlighted about power cut issue of Swaraj Dweep and Shaheed Dweep and demanded line boat service from Port Blair to Rangat via Shaheed Dweep, Swaraj Dweep, Strait Island and Long Island.
