

Port Blair, Sept. 26: On the occasion of ‘Aazadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’ (75 years of India’s Independence) and to mark the birth anniversary of Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya, the Hindu Rashtra Shakti, A&N Islands today organised a Fit India Freedom Run 2.0 at Chouldari. The run was followed by planting of fruit bearing saplings. Mr. Rakesh Chander Lal, Mr. Denis Giles and Mr. Sanjib Kumar Roy were invited as Chief Guests to encourage the villagers and young minds.
The programme commenced with paying floral tributes to Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyaya by the Chief Guests which was followed by Smti Minati Biswas, State President, Mahila Morcha encouraging the gathering to keep themselves healthy and fit. She also briefed the gathering about Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya, his works and achievements.
Addressing the gathering, Mr. Rakesh Chander Lal from All India Radio explained that to have a healthy body, it is important that one should have a positive mindset. He also explained how properly schedule becomes a key factor in keeping an individual fit and healthy.
Mr. Denis Giles, Editor, Andaman Chronicle on the occasion explained how sedentary lifestyle in today’s world has been affecting the health of the people. He also explained that the Corona Pandemic had mainly affected the comorbid people and why it becomes necessary to have a good immune system. As a fitness lover and gym enthusiast, he encouraged the youngsters to take up the sport but to beware of shortcuts which might have adverse impact.
Mr. Sanjib Kumar Roy, Editor, Andaman Sheekha also dwelt on the importance of a healthy lifestyle and explained that in spite of the busy schedule of scribes, he himself tries his best to take some time out for keeping himself fit. He thanked the Hindu Rashtra Shakti for inviting scribes as Chief Guests.
Earlier, Mr. Amar Singh, National Secretary, Hindu Rashtra Shakti briefed the gathering on the concept of Aazadi ka Amrit Mahotsav. He also mentioned that the reason for inviting scribes as chief guests was because journalists too had equally fought the war apart from other corona warriors, which generally tends to be ignored.
Among the others who were present were Mr. Rakeshwar Lall, State President, Hindu Rashtra Shakti, Smti Tapasi Saha, District President, Mahila Morcha, HRS, Mr. Angshuman Roy, State General Secretary (Youth) and Smti D. Radhika, State General Secretary, HRS.
Soon after the formal function, the Chief Guests flagged off the freedom run which commenced from Chouldari Community Hall and concluded at Navodaya Vidyalaya, Chouldari where fruit bearing saplings were planted by the guests and members of Hindu Rashtra Shakti.
The programme concluded with distribution of certificates to all the participants.
Hindu Rashtra Shakti is celebrating Aazadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav which commenced from 13th August 2021. The Mahotsav will conclude on 2nd October 2021 on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti.
Similar programmes are also being celebrated across the islands by the various wings of Hindu Rashtra Shakti. The programmes include Fit India Freedom Run, Swachhta Campaigns, Relief Distribution and Sapling planting among others.
