Sources in Administration told Andaman Sheekha that two helicopters were transported to Haddo Port by the authorities, from where the helicopters will be transported to Mumbai via cargo ship. The helicopters are being sent for routine repair and there is no matter of any accident.
While the first helicopter was shifted yesterday, the second helicopter was shifted today. It took nearly one hour to reach Haddo Port from Helipad, it is learnt.
As per details the helicopters are being sent to Mumbai for routine maintenance. Andaman is operating four Helicopters, while one extra helicopter is kept, in standby mode.
Presently two helicopters are being sent to Mumbai, leaving only three Helicopters operational in Andaman.
