Port Blair, Aug 29: Andaman Nicobar Chess Association organised an Online Open Chess Tournament 2021 today to commemorate the National Sports Day 2021. Shir Vipnesh Bharadwaj, International Arbiter from Chandigarh and Vice President of All India Chess Federation inaugurated the tournament through zoom in presence of Shri. H, Dinesh IA chief Arbiter of the tournament.
The Games were held in Rapid format that followed 15 minutes, plus a 5 second increment per move, per player over six roundsin Tornelo Platformlocated on the online chess server at https://www.tornelo.comunder video supervision.
Altogether 42 players participated in the tournament in which Shri. AKS Srimannaryana secured first position by scoring five & a half points with five wins & a draw in six rounds. R Kashthuri Bhai, stood second position by scoring five points with five wins, D Shrestha Vijay stood third by scoring five points with five wins. V Yashwant and M Dhan Raju scored four &a half points to secure fourth and fifth position respectively. The top five players will be awarded with cash prize.
The category wise results for U-13, U-11 & U-09 Boys and Girls will be updated and displayed at Andaman Nicobar Chess Association official website: @ www.anchessassociation.com after verifying the birth certificates of the participants.
