Port Bair, Aug 24: A fire was reported from a Hut made up of Bamboo and Leaves yesterday from Tugapur area. As per information no one was at home when thick smoke was seen coming out of the hut. Soon the matter was reported to Fire Services but as the Hut was situated in an inaccessible area, nearly ½ KM away from main road, that Fire Service team faced difficulties in reaching the spot and by the time they reached, the hut was completely gutted. However, the Fire Service team was able to stop the spread of fire on areacanut trees. As per details the electric short circuit caused the fire. Further investigations are on.
