Port Blair, Aug 11: The Secretary IP&T, Mr. Sunil Kumar Singh, today said that the situation regarding COVID-19 is under control and the administration is keeping watch on all aspects.
While addressing the COVID-19 media briefing today at IP&T Conference hall he pointed out that today altogether three flights with 323 passengers arrived today at Port Blair Airport and all passengers have undergone RT-PCR test, the results for today’s RT-PCR are awaited.
He said that of the passengers who arrived yesterday (Tuesday), no passengers were found COVID-19 positive at the RT-PCR test.
The Director further informed that 234 persons (travelers) bound for N&M Andaman was tested at Ferrargunj in which all persons were tested COVID-19 negative during Rapid Antigen Test (RAT) and passengers of MV Chouldari were also tested today which was returning Port Blair from Shaheed Dweep, altogether 77 people were tested in which all were found COVID-19 negative during Rapid Antigen Test (RAT).
“At Phoenix Bay jetty, 74 passengers travelling to Swaraj Dweep were tested in which all were found Covid-19 negative during Rapid Antigen Test (RAT).”, he added.
“Today altogether 819 beneficiaries got vaccinated by 04:00 PM in which 800 were under the 18-44 age groups who got their first dose of vaccine, ” he added.
The Deputy Director GB Pant Hospital, Dr. Amitabha De informed that at GB Pant Hospital one COVID-19 patient is admitted whereas no patient is on oxygen support and no asymptomatic patient is there at Covid Care Center, he pointed out.
