
Port Blair, Aug 06: The Joint Services Cycle Expedition of the Andaman and Nicobar Command accompanying the Swarnim Vijay Varsh Victory Flame reached Rangat on 06th Aug. The Victory Flame was carried to Govt. Senior Secondary School at Bakutalaand atRangat, where it was received with great enthusiasm by the Officials of Rangat District, Armed Forces Veterans and Head Masters of both the Schools.
Cultural Programs by School Children were organised at both the schools in Rangat to mark the Swarnim Vijay Varsh and honour the Victory Flame. Cycling while carrying the pious Victory Flame through dense forests and hilly terrain was a test of grit, determination and team work. The expedition has also conducted audio visual presentations to spread awareness amongst children and sensitisethem about the significance of India’s victory over Pakistan in 1971 War and liberation of Bangladesh from an oppressive regime of Pakistan. The participants shared their experiences with all present at the venue and motivated children to join the Armed Forces. As a mark of remembrance the expedition distributed memorabilia to school officials, Veterans and school children. The cycle expedition will reach GSS School Pahalgaon and Govt Model SS School by the late afternoon of 07th August 21.
