Port Blair, Aug 06: The All India Congress Committee (AICC) today appointed Mr. Ranglal Halder as President of Andaman Nicobar Territorial Congress Committee with immediate effect.
A communication issued by Mr. K.C. Venugopal today said that the Congress President has appointed Mr. Ranglal Halder as the President of Andaman & Nicobar Territorial Congress Committee while, Mr. G. Bhasker has been appointed as the Chairman, Campaign Committee of Andaman & Nicobar Territorial Congress Committee with immediate effect.
“The party appreciates the contributions of outgoing TCC President Shri Kuldeep Rai Sharma,” Mr. K.C. Venugopal added.
The appointment of President of Andaman Nicobar Territorial Congress Committee was long overdue in Andaman and Nicobar Islands and before taking the final decision the AICC had sent Dr. Ajoy Kumar, Ex – Member of Parliament; Lok Sabha, the Observer of All India Congress Committee (AICC), New Delhi to Port Blair to see the ground realities.
