Port Blair, Jul 28: Yesterday a special Gram Sabha meeting of Hari Nagar Gram Panchayat was held in the Billiground Vegetable Market.
During the Gram Sabha meeting the Gram Sabha members demanded that Dr. Ajit Kumar, CMO, PHC Billiground and Mr. Madhab Halder, SHO, PS Billiground should be awarded with DC’s Commendation for their tireless services in the region. Gram Sabha members said that from the date of posting of SHO, Madhab Halder, has made tremendous efforts to solve domestic violence cases in the area by applying his judicious approach and made effective steps to end the business of illegal and country liquor. Earlier, during Gram Sabha meeting the fisheries department officials highlighted about various schemes regarding Pradhan Mantri Matsya Sampada Yojana. The officials declared to make it a grand success for which they will arrange a separate program at the Panchayat level, so that every Kisan may understand the schemes properly and get benefit out of it.
It was learnt that the KVK (CARI) Nimbu Dera official also highlighted different issues to make farmers aware about bio fertilizer etc. Farmers of the Panchayat raised the issue of shortage of fertilizers and demanded immediate steps to provide their required fertilizer for their agro products and paddy.
