Port Blair, July 23: The Secretary, Port Blair Municipal Council inspected the Washer-man pond area of Premnagar, along with Superintending Engineer, PBMC and Sanitation Staff on dated 23/07/2021 for enquiring long pending demands of the Washer man, during course of inspection and interaction with the Washer man, Secretary PBMC assured to resolve the issues and directed the officials of PBMC to come up with proposals for early execution, he also directed officials of PBMC for de-silting of existing pond, strengthening of concrete structures, construction of a new well and secured fencing of allotted area to avoid illegal encroachments, he also instructed Sanitary Inspector to aware people of the area not to venture pigs in public places and if violated heavy penalty will be imposed as per notified Solid Waste Management By Laws of PBMC.
