Port Blair, Apr 25: Responding to Prime Minister’s clarion call for working towards achieving maximum vaccination coverage for the priority groups during Tika Utsav on 24th April 2021, Pankh NGO, Andaman working for the up-liftment of the society, organised a vaccination drive in Haddo, gate no.2 today with the support of the SHO Jyoti Chatwal, Chatham police station and staff of the health department and other frontline workers.
The centre was a great relief for old aged people of the area who had difficulty in travelling to far off vaccination centers.
Vaccination was provided to a 55 year old male at his residence because he had a surgery done recently.
The President of Pankh Mrs. Komal Anand and along with a member Suchitra Maheshwari were present at the venue to monitor the vaccination process. This drive had been also successful with the support of Nagendra Beera, district programme manager, DC Office, South Andaman.
Muthu’s Foundation had been also very supportive during this vaccination drive.
The team also provided lunch to the staff of the Health dept and other frontline workers involved in the vaccination drive.
The team of the NGO is committed to offer such services in future also as necessity arises.
