Port Blair, Apr 16: Andaman & Nicobar AIDS Control Society (ANACS) coordinated the Voluntary Blood Donation camp which was organized by the Dr. B. R. Ambedkar Institute of Technology, Pahargaon, Port Blair at Audio Visual Hall, Port Blair on 16th April 2021. A total of 22 units of voluntarily donated blood.
The camp was organized under the leadership of Dr M. Joy, Project Director, A & N AIDS Control Society and Director, State Blood Transfusion Council, A & N Islands.
Mr. Hari Kallikat, IAS, SDM, South Andaman addressed the camp and motivated the gathering for donating blood for the noble cause, as it saves precious life. He exhorted all voluntary blood donors to donate blood fearlessly in the forthcoming camps with all Covid-19 protocols.
Mr. Sanjay Malhotra, Dean (Students Affair), Dr. B. R. Ambedkar Institute of Technology, Port Blair organized the camp and made arrangements for conducting the camp successfully.
The technical team from Blood Bank, G.B. Pant Hospital, Port Blair and A & N AIDS Control Society ensured that the donated blood units are screened for the blood transmissible diseases. They also examined the donors for eligibility. Donor’s certificates were also distributed to the voluntary donors.
