Port Blair, Apr 12: The Secretary Tourism and IP, Mr. S.K. Singh said that there is a need to motivate people for Covid vaccination. The way elders in any home used to take children to the hospital for vaccination, today, in the same way, children need to take elders to a vaccination center to get them vaccinated.
He was addressing a press conference held this afternoon in the auditorium of the Directorate of Information Publicity and Tourism.
Mr. Singh said that the administration does not want a lockdown. For this people must strictly follow the Covid guidelines. He said that from police, administration to doctors and officers are motivating people to get vaccinated. For this, they are going door-to-door to appeal to those above 45 years of age to get vaccinated.
Director of Health Services Dr. Omkar Singh said that Covid vaccine is completely safe and all people need to come forward for vaccination. He added that if a person is corona positive after being vaccinated, then he will not need ventilator nor will he be in danger.
