Port Blair, Apr 11: A fire incident was reported this morning from Directorate of Agriculture, Haddo Area.
It was learnt that at around 10:30 AM the peon and staff of the office saw that a thick smoke was coming from conference hall and immediately the matter was reported to fire station control room, after which within few minute two fire tenders, one from Headquarter and another fire tender from Chatham reached the spot and doused the fire within 25 minutes.
As per information received the cause of fire is short circuit in the electric panel of the conference hall and as per sources property worth around 6 lakhs rupees has been destroyed in the fire. Luckily, no casualty was reported in this accident.
