Port Blair, Mar 24: Mr. Suneel Anchipaka, IAS, Secretary (RD), Andaman and Nicobar Administration signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) under Andaman and Nicobar Islands Rural Livelihood Mission (ANIRLM) with Sri Angalamman Trust, Tamil Nadu, Project Implementing Agency for implementation of Deen Dayal Upadhyay Grameen Kaushalya Yojana (DDUGKY) in the UT of Andaman & Nicobar Islands.
With the signing of the MoU, the new PIA will train a total 300 state’s youth in the field of Healthcare, Tourism & Hospitality sector which includes rural poor youths from across all the districts of the state to be trained under the DDU-KGY and provide job placement in the organized sectors.
Full residential training of the identified rural youth shall be commenced in South Andaman District shortly. The mobilization and counselling of candidates of all three Districts are being done by the PIAs with the support of the ANIRLM and the concerned Blocks.
