Port Blair, Dc 16: The week-long mandatory Induction Programme for the newly inducted students to various courses in BRAIT started as per the guidelines of ACITE. Keeping the ongoing pandemic protocol, the programme is being organized in both physical mode for local day scholars and virtual mode for outstation students.
The day-long activity started with the ‘BRAIT Gaan’ followed by a welcome dance and lighting of lamp by the BRAIT Alumni and a group of new students to share the warmth of institutional bond. The initial session was a success story shared by Scientist, ISRO who is also an Alumni of the institute. To give them a flair of the institute activities and regulations, the fresher’s were made aware about the essential academic, training and examination related information. A basket of programme comprising Ice-breaking session, motivational address, session on Entrepreneurship and start-up and engaging sessions on Brain Games were held to tinker the young aspiring minds.
The day 2 started with Yoga and meditation by the team of AYUSH. Following with the day, Shri Sunil Anchipaka, IAS, Deputy Commissioner, South Andaman, an IITán from Gowahati, motivated the students by sharing his personal experience and insisted them not to forget their roots and contribute to society. Continuing with the motivational talk, Shri Hari Kallilkkat, IAS, SDM, also an Electronics Engineer, told the students to be associated and mingle with the students of positive attitude and behavior in hostels and in the college for success in the carrier. Adding the flair, Shri Lakshay Singhal, IAS, motivated the students by sharing his life story. This event was conducted in association with the BRAIT alumni.
In all 194 students physically attended the Induction Program, whereas around 200 participants viewed the program through webcast virtually through seven extension centres on day one. All the health parameters of the participants were captured and recorded and necessary Covid protocol, social distancing norms, as well as frequent sanitization alarms were followed at all times through-out the programme.
Highlights of the third day program would be an interactive session by Chief of Staff, Rear Admiral Suraj Berry, AVSM, NM, VSM and his team for the aspiring students followed by other interesting events.
