Port Blair, Dec 06: Mr. Ajoy Bairagi has expressed gratitude towards the Deputy Commissioner, South Andaman and Deputy Commissioner, North and Middle Andaman for reducing the cost of COVID-19 RAT test from Rs. 500/- earlier to Rs. 200/- from 7th of December 2020.
Mr. Ajoy Bairagi had earlier written to the authorities to waive off the charges for COVID-19 Rapid Antigen Test for the welfare of the residents of Andaman and Nicobar Islands.
The general public of the Islands were facing a lot of issues because they had to shell out Rs. 500/- for their travel from one Island to another every time. Further the validity of the tests have been decided as three days which will further reduce unnecessary testing on the cases where one person had to return within the next three days.
