Port Blair, Nov 19: The 67th All India Cooperative Week Celebration was being celebrated on 19th Nov, 2020 at the premises of A & N State Cooperative Union. Mr. Swaran Singh, Director, A&N State Cooperative Union as the Chief Guest in presence of various Apex and Primary Level Cooperatives.
Smti. Nandini, Faculty Member, RGCTC welcomed the Chief Guest and other delegates to the 67th All India Cooperative Week Celebration 2020. He further informed the main theme “Covid Pandemic- Atmanirbhar Bharat –Cooperatives” and addressing the gathering on day’s topic “Cooperatives for Youth, Women and Weaker Sections”.
Mr. Swaran Singh, Director, A&N State Cooperative Bank as the Chief Guest of the programme addressing on the topic “Cooperatives for Youth, Women and Weaker Sections”. He informed that the Cooperative movement plays an important role in socio-economic development of our country. He further informed that we have to attract our youth to the cooperative movement.
Mr. Suresh Babu, Principal, RGCTC spoke on the topic “Cooperatives for Youth, Women and Weaker Sections”. He informed that the cooperation needs to be popularized in the College/Universities as start-ups which can be used as a stepping stone to building enterprises for self –employment and further generating employment.
Mr. Anant Rao, Vice Chairman, A&N State Cooperative Union also spoke on the topic “Cooperatives for Youth, Women and Weaker Sections”. He informed that the weaker sections of the society are equally important for the cooperative societies and the cooperative movement for the fisheries as well as tribal communities has become strong in A&N Islands.
Smti. Sumitra Kumari, Cooperative Education Instructor (CEI), A&N State Cooperative Union has highlighted the courses offered by the A&N State Cooperative Union in urban and rural areas.
The programme ended with the vote of thank proposed by Smti. Shameema Begum, Beautician Instructor, A&N State Cooperative Union.
