Port Blair, Nov 12: The Chief of Naval Staff, (CNS) Admiral Karambir Singh, PVSM, AVSM, ADC, will reach Car Nicobar tomorrow on a short visit via a special aircraft.
While interacting with media persons at Andaman and Nicobar Command Headquarter the Chief Staff Officer (Operations), Brigadier SS Bhogal today said that after visiting Car Nicobar, the CNS will also visit India’s Southernmost Territory Campbell Bay and interact with officers and jawans of Defence Forces.
Brigadier SS Bhogal added that the CNS will also take stock of defence preparedness in the southern group of islands.
He said that Andaman and Nicobar Command is playing a very active role in safeguarding the vast sea area around Andaman and Nicobar Islands. The Andaman and Nicobar Command requested all islanders, mainly the fishing community, to remain vigilant at sea and report any suspicious activity to the defence forces.
During the programme Group Captain YN Natkarni also interacted with media persons.
